Kinja'd!!!

So, I’m guessing this is from a TV show. I don’t watch much TV.

So it is locked and put into 5th gear? That is creative.

We need a post where we gather all the failed Carjackings because of Manual Transmissions. Those make me laugh.

Plot twist, it’s actually an automatic.

But really, not sure if I would park it in 5th gear.

Jeremy Clarkson can start in 5th so jokes on them

Or, if a stick-driving thief DOES get your car started, he is SURE to ruin your clutch by starting from a stop in 5th gear.

Putting a lock on the clutch would probably be better.

Unless they glued the knob in this can be bypassed. And is it in neutral?

A little harder to get to, though.

silly shift pattern for an odd number of gears

They should’ve put R in the top row

Top left is where it is in my VW, and nobody can seem to find it. I think it’s the “push down” part they can’t seem to grasp.

True, but you wouldn’t see the metal tab.

I HATE left to reverse. My pristine E30 was backed into by some kid in a jacked up Dodge Ram years ago in a parking lot who wasn't looking. In a panic I just couldn't find reverse. IMHO reverse should always be down and right.

Yeah, it was. I don’t either, but I happened to watch it last night. Lilyhammer, about a mafioso from NYC who testifies against the mov and then goes to hide out in Lillehammer in Norway. Has to get a Norwegian driving license, that’s the first driving lesson - and he has a rant about the car being a ‘stick’.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the show, just never watched it.

Couldn’t you simply remove the knob and make the lock come off? /confused

I don't think there would be enough room with the padlock still attached to the hasp. Apparently, this was taken from a gag on the TV show Lillehammer.

Couldn’t you just easily unscrew whatever is holding that bracket there?
